As of April 1, 2017, all Fastcam 510 are being recalled. The company is working around the clock to produce new replacements for customers who have purchased this product. Customers can send their current units to Fastcam's offices located at XXX on XXX St, Detroit MI 48054 on the address line. Once they receive your unit they will send you a new replacement camera as soon as possible! I am writing this post so that you know it is being fixed so please do not buy it right now if you are looking for a camera! I just wanted to warn people who are about to spend their hard earned money on something that may not work or be fixable. It has been reported that many people who have bought this camera use it for their cell phones and I don't think it is a good idea to buy something so expensive, which can be used to take photos, for your phone. Personally I think you should use the best of the best equipment you can afford for this job because it will result in better photos. The camera may not come out perfectly centered! I have included a photo of what the camera looks like when attached to my cell phone. It slides into my charging port just fine, but I will admit that it does not look very professional because there are some scratches on my cell phone from where the plastic meets. One thing that I do like about this camera is that it has its own screen to take photos on. It automatically captures the photo, which means you don't have to touch the camera, when it is in your phone. Another great feature is that when you are done with it, it can send them right to your phone! It takes up very little space because it only takes up about 4" x 6". You can also use another program called 'FastCam Server' in order to upload the photos directly from this camera to your computer via an SD card. You can then save them to a flash drive and print them out, or use a scanner. The memory card that it comes with is only 2 GB, so you may want to upgrade it. In order to have this camera up and running it has several different items that have to be hooked up. You need a computer with Windows XP or higher, the camera will function on Mac 10, but it will not work with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard. It needs the USB cable needed so you can connect the camera and computer together and also the power adapter to turn the machine on/off. The adapter does not come with this product; you must buy one. It also requires a 32MB thumb drive to transfer the files from the camera to your computer. It works on Xbox 360, Xbox XboxOne, PlayStation 3, Playstation 4, Nintendo Wii U, Samsung Galaxy S2/S3/S4. iPhone 4S/5/5C/6+/, iPad 2 or higher, Non Apple product and Android devices. This camera is easy to use and will be able to take sharp and clear photographs of suspicious activity happening around your home or business. The FastCam 510 has a 10 megapixel CCD which produces crisp clear images and can capture motion at 25fps in high resolution.
